Chase Entities
Counter chase entities in Darkest Hours: Sprintbear, Coalcart, Spawn, Telefragger, and speed-scaling Roblox killers.
Chase Entity Behavior
Chase-type entities accelerate during pursuit, closing gaps if you only run straight lines. Sprintbear, Coalcart, Spawn, Telefragger, bob, and Funboiler exemplify the pattern: once spotted, they commit to pursuit until line of sight breaks or a deaf window triggers. Stamina management is non-negotiable—see stamina guide.
Break line of sight early using 90-degree corners on maps like Brick Maze and Office Building. Do not sprint in open loops on Parking Garage unless Speed Coil is available.
Counters and Items
Metal Bat stun buys two seconds; Revolver adds range. After stun, immunity prevents chain stuns—coordinate one swing then run. Riot Shield blocks frontal hits during tight hall retreats on Corridor.
Radar helps detect approach speed indirectly via closing stud counts. Pair with defensive items and tier list priority study.
Map-Specific Routing
Multi-floor maps let you drop chase pathing temporarily—entities must repath. Service Tunnels and Seamless Hallways reward players who know connector shortcuts. Avoid dead-end rooms on Horror House without coil escape.
Compare with ranged entities that punish open ground differently. Return to all entities for full roster.
